situ\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur d&rsquo;un th\u00e9\u00e2tre. Le 1er tableau se d\u00e9roule \u00e0 la nuit tomb\u00e9e : Rodolfo peint le rideau de sc\u00e8ne rouge, et fait p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans le th\u00e9\u00e2tre ses trois copains de mis\u00e8re pour un repas de boh\u00e8me improvis\u00e9. Mimi descend sur sc\u00e8ne via l&rsquo;\u00e9chafaudage &#8211; sans doute travaille-t-elle aussi dans le th\u00e9\u00e2tre.<\/p>\n<p>Le 2e et 3e tableaux se d\u00e9roulent dans des d\u00e9cors aux allures de Cinecitt\u00e0 : les d\u00e9cors du caf\u00e9 Momus puis de la barri\u00e8re de l&rsquo;Enfer \u00e9voquent parfaitement les lieux imagin\u00e9s par le librettiste, mais ne semblent pas termin\u00e9s, comme si le spectateurs voyaient l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur d&rsquo;un atelier d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n<p>Au 4e tableau, c&rsquo;est sur le devant de la sc\u00e8ne, devant le rideau peint par Rodolfo, que Mimi vient mourir dans les bras de son amour et de ses amis. A sa mort, le rideau se l\u00e8ve, d\u00e9voilant une foule de figurants sur un plateau nu, d\u00e9cors rang\u00e9s. Ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s dans tes tons marrons et gris et patin\u00e9s, les costumes \u00e9voquent un mois de f\u00e9vrier bien froid. Seule la robe orange vif de Musette d\u00e9tonne au milieu de la mar\u00e9e humaine. Au dernier tableau, Mimi arbore une robe rose fuchsia &#8211; fastueuse mais d\u00e9chir\u00e9e et d\u00e9fra\u00eechie, symbole des jours o\u00f9, se faisant entretenir, elle s&rsquo;\u00e9tait \u00e9loign\u00e9e de Rodolfo. Sur fond du rideau rouge peint par Rodolfo, l&rsquo;orange et le fuchsia des robes cr\u00e9ent un embrasement des couleurs qui suit celui de la musique.<\/p>\n<p>La mise en <strong>lumi\u00e8re de Bertrand Couderc<\/strong> cr\u00e9e des \u00ab\u00a0niches\u00a0\u00bb lumineuses autour des protagonistes, permettant de r\u00e9tr\u00e9cir visuellement la sc\u00e8ne au plus pr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;action.
