demand\u00e9 pourquoi cet op\u00e9ra n\u2019avait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 intitul\u00e9 Cleopatra car Giulio Cesare n\u2019y fait pas grand-chose. Il est tr\u00e8s passif. C\u00e9sar ne fait pas avancer l\u2019histoire car celui qui pr\u00e9cipite l\u2019action est Sesto, un jeune homme qui doit faire face au meurtre de son p\u00e8re et se venger. Ce faisant, il \u00e9volue et devient un homme. L\u2019action est \u00e9galement conduite par sa m\u00e8re, et par Cl\u00e9op\u00e2tre qui bouscule tout. Pour moi, C\u00e9sar est un homme qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 atteint ses buts et tout accompli. Historiquement, quand il part en Egypte, il a 52 ans. Quatre ans plus tard, il mourra en revenant \u00e0 Rome. A ce moment de sa vie, celui \u00e9voqu\u00e9 dans l\u2019op\u00e9ra, C\u00e9sar sait qu\u2019il ne peut qu\u2019\u00eatre tu\u00e9 \u00bb, car il est est trop puissant et d\u2019autres convoitent son pouvoir.<\/p>\n<p>Dans \u00ab Lost in translation \u00bb, \u00ab le personnage jou\u00e9 par Bill Murray rencontre Scarlett Johansson et en tombe amoureux. Il en devient plus l\u00e9ger et plus jeune. Mon C\u00e9sar lost in Egypt est un grand empereur redevenu humain. \u00bb J\u2019ai \u00e9galement voulu insister sur la pr\u00e9monition de sa mort en faisant surgir les conjur\u00e9s sur sc\u00e8ne. J\u2019ai rendu forte la figure de Pomp\u00e9e, comme une statue de Commandeur. Elles deviennent une sorte d\u2019obsession pour C\u00e9sar qui sait que sa vie t\u00f4t ou tard va s\u2019achever. Le d\u00e9cor \u00e9volue et devient un filet avec toujours ce fil rouge comme leitmotiv. Le choix des costumes modernes sert la symbolique des personnages humains qui pensent et vivent des situations pr\u00e9cises et concr\u00e8tes. Mais les renvois \u00e0 l\u2019Egypte, \u00e0 la Rome antique mais aussi \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re baroque ne manquent pas. La statue de Pompeo est un clin d\u2019\u0153il \u00e0 une c\u00e9l\u00e8bre peinture n\u00e9oclassique de Vicenzo Camuccini.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Les costumes de Agostino Cavalca<\/strong> servent donc cette dramaturgie charg\u00e9e en symboles, avec, pour le r\u00f4le de Cl\u00e9op\u00e2tre, plusieurs identit\u00e9s qu&rsquo;elle endosse pour s\u00e9duire C\u00e9sar. Toutes ces facettes sont de grandes ic\u00f4nes du pass\u00e9, de Louise Brooks \u00e0 Elizabeth Taylor, rappel\u00e9es tant par les perruques que par les
